Introduction

OAF is an association of non Swedish, European noblity that now reside in Sweden, and families which were ennobled by Swedish monarchs but which for different reasons were never represented in the Swedish parliament when up to 1866 it comprised four Estates; nobility, clergy, burghers and land-owning peasants. What the OAF-families have in common is that they are not represented in the Swedish House of Nobility, the institution which assembles the Swedish nobility.

Every fitfth year the association publishes an almanach - in Swedish - of the current member families. There are some 100 aristocratic families listed in the almanach, each with a short genealogical introduction, as well as more than 5 000 capsule biographies.
